Showhouses show off designer talents & beauty of Serenbe surroundings.
In just a few short months, the 6th Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Serenbe Designer Showhouse will open to the public for a month of tours. This annual event is an opportunity for the best interior designers in Atlanta to showcase their talents, and for guests to feel inspired in decorating their own homes and spaces.
Planning for the upcoming Showhouses always reminds us of the beauty of past homes and the wonderful partnership with Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Magazine.
The first Showhouse, designed by Robert Pulliam and Eddy Rhinehart of Rhinehart Pulliam & Company and built by John Bynum of Bynum Homes, was in Swann Ridge, a pocket neighborhood that had just completed its early homes when the Showhouse opened for tours in September 2014. It was a magical setting, with homes nestled under a canopy of trees and next to winding, cobblestone streets that harken back to the English village of Bibury, which was the design inspiration.
One of the best parts of opening an Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Serenbe Designer Showhouse are the celebratory Preview Parties, held the night before the home is open to the public for tours. One of our favorite preview parties HAS to be the one for the 2015 Serenbe Showhouse. Che Marshalls’ second line brass band led guests down the street in a New Orleans style procession to a high-top tent with twinkling lights, cozy seating and delicious small bites by Chef Matt Adolfi.
The 2016 Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Serenbe Designer Showhouse took on a different kind of project. Designers transformed the penthouse apartment of Serenbe’s Textile Lofts, brand new at the time and modeled after a turn-of-the-century textile mill.
Not to be outdone by previous years, the 2017 Showhouse also showcased the varied offerings found at Serenbe with The Manor Townhomes. Designers split across TWO white brick townhouses in the Mado neighborhood.
A rare opportunity came for the 2019 Showhouse - a new build in Selborne, Serenbe’s original neighborhood that is almost completely built out. Designer Mitch Ginn of L. Mitchell Ginn and McKinney Builders created a modern take on the classic farmhouse cottage with board and batten siding, a metal roof and stone terrace and chimney.
This year’s Showhouse is back in the Mado neighborhood. The 4-bedroom, 4.5 bathroom 3-story home is designed by Serenbe Planning & Design and built by South Haven and has gorgeous views of the preserved woods. Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Magazine has not yet announced the 2019 interior designers, but they will be led by Anna-Wooten Loggins of A Wooten Interiors.
The 2019 Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Serenbe Designer Showhouse opens with the Preview Party on Thursday, September 19, 2019. The open is open for tours Thursday-Sunday, 10am-5pm September 20-October 13, 2019. Visit serenbeshowhouse.com for more information and tickets to all Showhouse events.
