Serenbe cherishes everyone involved in building our community, especially the home builders we are so lucky to work with. It looks like other people like our builders, too. So much, in fact, that they gave them fancy awards! This week’s post is all about 1023 Construction and it’s Principle Partner, Andrew Kelly, not only for the beautiful homes they build in the community, but also the many OBIE awards they have received for their outstanding achievements in the building sector.

The OBIE Awards are the premier awards in the new home construction industry, honoring awards in more than 100 building, remodeling, marketing and personal achievement categories. According to the Atlanta Home Builder’s website, the OBIE’s began in 1980 and are presented each year by the Greater Atlanta Homebuilder’s Association’s (GAHBA) Sales and Marketing Council for outstanding achievements in the categories mentioned above. The name “OBIE” comes from the obelisk shape of the award, and are considered the premier award in the Atlanta home building industry. Andrew Kelly is a licensed builder who had a vision and desire to build a company that would merge his core ethical values - integrity, quality and superior craftsmanship - and we can definitely say 1023 Construction upholds all of these values, as they have built incredible houses throughout Serenbe. Andrew is a long-time member of the GAHBA, which is a non-profit “professional trade association dedicated to promoting, protecting and preserving the home building industry as a viable economic force in the Atlanta area”, according to their website.

Andrew’s lifelong career in construction was born when he graduated from The College of Charleston’s Business School, when his passion for historical architecture was paired with his immense respect for creative and mindful building. He has worked in different sectors including land development, custom luxury residential construction, speculative residential construction, historical renovation and commercial construction. Andrew has truly been hard at work doing amazing things in the building industry, that’s for sure. He runs 1023 Construction with his wife, Amy Kelly, who primarily focuses on business development, strategy and management. What a team!
