Join 2017 New Georgia Arts Literary Achievement Award recipient Allison Joseph and 2017 Frances Focus Fellowship recipient Ray Christian for a remarkable evening of poetry and story.
Allison Joseph is known for her work advocating for young authors, as well as authoring seven collections of poetry. She teaches at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and is Director of the Young Writers Workshop at SIUC, which she founded in 1999. Her books include Multitudes, Double Identity, and Mercurial.
Ray Christian is the seven-time Moth Story Slam Champion and the winner of the 2016 National Storytelling Festival Story Slam. Ray is a retired paratrooper and lives in Boone, NC with his wife, children, dogs, and chickens. He produces the podcast What’s Ray Saying which features stories born out of his own life experiences: inner city poverty, race relations, military, family, travel, and adventure.
